Funeral services will be held for Virgil Fontenot, 64, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 8. Burial will follow in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Fontenot died Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Vidrine Fontenot of Ville Platte; three sons, Barry Fontenot (Wendy), Jason Fontenot (Heather) and Lance Fontenot (Rebecca), all of Ville Platte; two daughters, Sharon Fontenot and Susan Conly (Joe), all of Ville Platte; three brothers, Rodrick Fontenot of Ville Platte, Delvin Fontenot of Baton Rouge and Edius Fontenot of Morgan City; three sisters, Frenella Saucier of Ville Platte, Evanna Fontenot of Baton Rouge and Dagment Ankeny of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Lelia Johnson Fontenot; and one brother, Mack Fontenot.

Visitation will be held today, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m., and will resume again Friday, March 8, at 8 a.m. until time of service.

Father Garrett McIntyre will officiate.
